Day 3 of the Photo Blogging Contest.. Theme today being Water

The first image was taken at the Fountains at Dubai Mall, near the Burj Khalifa. A daily event, attended by thousands, if not hundreds of thousands. What struck me with this shot, is the manner in which Water if controlled, can be managed to your needs. The lake obviously being calm, and the jets in the middle spraying Water all across, depending on the pressure that one puts. It may go up with force, but as it recedes back, it could either be with fury, or simply becoming drops in the ocean.

@ Gomti Ghat

@ Gomti Ghat

This image was in July, during my visit to Dwarka and at the Gomti Ghaat. Just being there at the Ghaat was an experience in itself. Spent quite a few hours there, clicking away, and also getting my camera and myself drenched in the process, the rush of the sea water against the banks was a curt reflection of the power that nature has. The mornings are extremely hectic, with the sea simmering down during the evening. A number of people get washed away, as they bathe on the banks of the Ghaat (I almost lost my footing while clicking this one), but the raw energy that passes through your body simply cannot be described.

Save Water

Save Water

The last picture, however represents reality of life. Water no matter in what format we use, managed or at the mercy of nature, is also a very precious asset. The saying above was a wall art graffitti, that summed up the importance of water in a state in India, where water is precious. What does it say:

“Don’t waste water by letting it run. Utilize every droplet of water”

The three images for me are a reflection of what Water can do. If managed properly, it can entertain us, in its raw form, it has the potential to destroy mankind. It is upto us, how to manage this.
